What is Breast Implant Illness?

Breast implant Illness (BII) is a multitude of various unexplained symptoms that occur in people of all ages and backgrounds that have breast implants.

The symptoms range from mild to severe and these include everything from severe headaches, fibromyalgia, autoimmune disease, brain fog, including neurological issues & even cancer.

To date, there is no test to confirm a BII diagnosis and in the medical industry, BII is not even an official diagnosis; therefore, it is assumed there is no official treatment either.

Removing my implants was the best thing I ever did for my health. I had 25 years of Breast Implant Illness (BII) symptoms and now I have zero.

Why Women Decide to Get Breast Augmentation Surgery

Our society defines what beauty is and we accept it.

Therefore, if we don’t have the perfect body, slim waste line and large breasts we don’t feel beautiful or good enough. Many women believe larger breasts will make them beautiful, regain their youthfulness, and increase their feminine attributes, while enhancing their overall appearance.

WHAT THE SURGEON'S TELL US

Are Breast Implants Are Safe?

Consultations with plastic surgeons mostly focus on the size of the implant, type, placement, and recovery time. Women are not given the full picture and therefore making a decision before knowing all the facts. I personally experienced this, when I had my consultation with my surgeon. He didn’t even tell me to get them replaced every 10 years!

WHAT THE SURGEON'S TELL US

Black-Box Label on Breast Implants

A Black Box warning is the highest safety-related warning that medications can have assigned. This is issued by the Food and Drug Administration.

In 2022, the FDA released a statement and placed a black-box labels on breast implants, warning that they had been linked to a host of chronic medical conditions, including autoimmune disease, joint pain, mental confusion, muscle aches and chronic fatigue, as well as to lymphoma.

This is a type of cancer known as breast implant-associated  anaplastic large cell lymphoma (BIA-ALCL).

Symptoms of Breast Implant Illness (BII)

Some women do not experience any health concerns after getting breast implants, however this is mostly due to the fact they are unaware their decline in health is due to the implants. some start having these Bll symptoms within weeks of implantation surgery. If you started to develop any of these symptoms and you cannot get any answers, your breast implants may be the root cause.

The list of symptoms connected to BII is exceptionally long. Here are the most common types of symptoms my clients have experienced:

Anxiety

Stress is a normal body's reaction if you are in a confrontation with someone or if you find yourself in a difficult problem at work or home. Your palms may get sweaty, it may be hard to think clearly & your heart rate can go sky high. If you're experiencing fear, dread, and uneasiness - all the time you may have anxiety.

Autoimmune Disorder

Autoimmune disease has over 80 types of diseases. It  happens when the body's natural defense system can't tell the difference between your own cells and foreign cells. Your body makes a mistake and attacks your normal cells.

Brain Fog

Brain fog is characterized by confusion, forgetfulness, lack of concentration, or mental clarity.

Breast Pain

Breast pain can range from mild to severe symptoms. They can last a few seconds or days. Breast pain may be frequent or sporadic and can occur at any time. Breast pain (mastalgia) is described as tenderness, throbbing, sharp, stabbing, burning pain or tightness in the breast tissue.

Chronic Fatigue

Chronic fatigue syndrome causes extreme tiredness. No matter how much you rest, you wake up tired and exhausted.

Fibromyalgia

Fibromyalgia is a chronic (long-lasting) disorder that causes pain and tenderness throughout the body. This can occur during the day or night making it difficult to sleep.

These are just a small list of symptoms linked to BII

The Biggest Mistakes Women Make to Get Pain Relief from Their BII Symptoms

The Problem

Women want to do a heavy metals detox protocol while keeping their implants.

The Solution

Regardless of what the plastic surgeon told you about implant safety, the bottom line is: they are toxic. The shell that contains the silicone (or saline) contains more than 40 heavy metals like cadmium, chromium, mercury, silver and lead (just to name a few). This stuff keeps leaching into your body like the lymph system 24/7 ... 365 days a year.

Doing a heavy metals detox protocol while keeping something toxic in the body is like trying to change a tire and going over spikes in hopes the tire won't rupture.

The Problem

The implants manufactured today are still toxic.

The Solution

Women remove the old implants. Advocate for affordable and safe implant removal options for those experiencing adverse effects.

The Problem

The Doctor claims the symptoms they experience are not related to their breast implants.

The Solution

BII is not an actual medical diagnosis; therefore, your Doctor will not give you a treatment plan. There is no test or scan that'll confirm you have this condition. If you get checked and everything looks "good", the breast implants may be the cause of your health problems.

The Problem

Women try various methods to help their BII symptoms. Anything from lifestyle change to vitamins.

The Solution

The first step in healing your body from BII symptoms is to prepare your body to explant your implants.

Hi I'm  SHARON!

You're looking at the youngest of eight kids. My six older brothers had a skewed view of "the perfect woman," and I adopted this image early on as a young girl. Moving to California in 1997 only reinforced this betrayal of self, with the relentless “California Girl” ideal. So, after I stopped breastfeeding, I decided to get breast augmentation—without truly considering the impact of placing a foreign object inside my God-given body.

Over time, I experienced a long list of unexplained health issues. I had chronic fatigue, joint pain, brain fog, fibromyalgia-like symptoms, vision problems, inflammation, gut issues, anxiety, and a severe drop in bone density. I’ve since learned that countless women experience the same struggles—autoimmune conditions, hormonal imbalances, recurring infections, hair loss, and even heart palpitations. Yet, like me, many never make the connection to their implants.

Sharon Cusack

I tried everything—emotional healing, nutritional changes, detoxes, spiritual work—but nothing truly restored my health. When my bone density started plummeting, pushing me to the edge of osteoporosis, I knew I had to take action.

In July 2022, I made the decision to explant. It was not an easy journey. My implants were placed under the muscle, making the recovery more complex, but removing them was the most powerful act of self-love I have ever made. I was reclaiming the divine being I was created to be.

Now, I help women just like you navigate the pre, during, and post-explant journey. With specific protocols, high-frequency nutraceuticals, and one-on-one support, I guide you in healing your body and mind from the inside out—back to the pure, vibrant health that was designed for you.

If I can leave you with one message: You are not your implants. You were created in divine perfection, and no artificial enhancement can define your worth. It’s time to reclaim the sacred, natural beauty you were designed with—to embrace your divine feminine essence with confidence, grace, and self-love.

My Health is more Important

"I decided my health was more important than keeping my implants inside. It took years to make this decision, and realizing my symptoms—especially my loss of bone density—were linked to my implants was eye-opening. I called Sharon after working with her on other health issues, and she guided me to the right doctor. Her support, positivity, and expertise gave me the strength I needed before and after surgery."

FAQ

Why should a woman who has had breast implants consider getting them taken out?

The implants are foreign objects in the body that are not part of our natural state. Inflammation is created 24/7. The body is in a constant state of inflammation creating an autoimmune response.

How will I know if this journey is for me?

This journey is for all woman with implants if you want to regain your true sense of wellbeing and honour your authentic self.

Are there signs that my breast implants are causing me harm?

Yes, Breast Implant Illness as listed above are varied and real. Breast hardening, cysts and fibroids are obvious symptoms of Bll.

If my breast implants aren’t hurting me, why should I consider getting them taken out anyway?

Our bodies are complex and, in many cases, hide symptoms of ‘dis-ease’ many of us are not aware of the impact of the symptoms until they are no longer there. They will create a 24/7 inflammatory response, all dis-ease in the body starts with inflammation.

My implants have been inside of me longer than scheduled for efficacy, but I feel fine. Why should I be concerned?

These foreign bags are not natural and will continue to create scar tissue as the bodies attempt to seclude them with an inflammatory response from the rest of the body. The advice is to have them replaced every 10 years, however many do not since they visibly are not causing issues, however internally they are.

How will I find a doctor to help with a breast explant?

There are various breast explant advocacy groups on Facebook that have lists of recommended Surgeons to assist you on your journey. I can also make some recommendations.

Is the explant experience like the implant experience?

The explant experience is different because you are now reclaiming your true and authentic self. I personally have found it more emotionally, spiritually, and physically challenging to me. But so worth it!

How long will recovery take after they are taken out?

The recovery time varies depending on a woman's current state of health, I can assist you with protocols and strategies to create a program that will reduce your recovery times.

Will I need counselling or support once they’re out?

This is a personal choice; however, I would highly recommend either a support group or an Emotional Consultation to address and prepare you for your emotional journey of all aspects of why you got them in the first place and how you will manage your body image upon explant.

Will my husband still love me if I get them out?

The most important focus is “will you love you?” This is a complex question and needs to be answered through supportive practices. If you love, you then the rest does not matter.

Will I love myself once they’re removed? How will I deal with my new body?

This is why I am offering this 2-hour Explant Consultation so I can provide you with the tools and strategies to uncover your true and authentic self. Selflove is selfcare.

How long is the recovery time post-surgery?

This time can range depending on your emotional, physical, and spiritual health. I will guide you on a beautiful journey to love yourself unconditionally and reduce the time it takes for you to heal.

Will I need plastic surgery afterwards?

The key is to pick the right Surgeon to assist you to reduce any other surgeries, often your surgeon will advise on whether a lift is recommended. For optimal results.

Will my health insurance pay for this procedure? What are the expected out of pocket charges?

In some cases, woman have been able to recover some of explant costs through their insurance plans due to Breast Implant Illness symptoms, this will need to be discussed with your physician and determined individually. The price range of explantation surgeries depending on where you have this done is anywhere from $5000-$20,000 USD.
